do rebound relationships ever work?

I met a man shortly after he came out of a long term relationship. After nearly a year together he has ended things as he needs to get his head around what has happened to him.

Deep down I am hoping that he might come back to me. Am I deluding myself?

Yes mine did. Met my now DH2weeks after previous relationship ended. 16 years on and we are still together.

I think it depends whether you still have feelings for your ex. I split from my ex of 1 year and 2 months later had met and was madly in love with my now DP. But I was definitely over my ex and had been for a while before splitting. I also had (what I like to call a mental month) a period after the split of casual sex and sort of got it all out of my system so to speak.
