I am newly single after 12 yrs I have a little boy, he is my world and will always come first.

The guy I am talking about I met a few years ago. We hit it off and have been in occasional contact since. He made it clear that if i had been single, he would have been interested. (disclaimer- i did not leave my partner for him, my ex and i split for other reasons)There is a spark there that I'd like to explore. He knows I am single.

I intend to stay single for at least 6months to get my head round things and don't want to jump straight into a serious relationship.

What should I do? Ask him out or play it cool or not bother at all?

Give it the six months without thinking about him much. You have just come out of a relationship and you're a mum; take a bit of time to process and decide what you want for yourself, outside of relationships. The answer to the question will come later.
