Mother projecting again

I normally have a good relationship with my mum but she's been troublesome since I became more independent. My last lot of wages are 3 days late and counting. I am now very low on money as I only worked part time before, while job hunting like mad, and have only just begun to work full-time. I called my mother for advice/a rant today and she told me that it's my fault for not having more put aside for a rainy day! She got quite nasty about it. It's totally unfair as I have earnt very, very little since leaving university and she knows that. She's projecting her own terrible money habits on to me, right?

I called DP instead and he was really sympathetic, as expected. I suppose I should have done that first! I certainly will next time.
