What romantic things can I do for dh on Valentines Day?

Ok, so its our first Valentines Day as a married couple!! We don't really celebrate it as a rule but I'd like to do something nice for dh that doesn't cost very much and that we can do at home (well, ok, just thought of something )

Any brilliant ideas?

Don't wear any knickers

noddy5 · 12/02/2004 15:34

do wear knickers-edible ones!

SpringChicken · 12/02/2004 15:36

Cook a really lovelt meal, set the table and light candles!
Run a nice bath afterwards with candles all around (Not a great idea if your pregnant like me, as i can only just fit in the bath on my own at present ) when you go to bed put some nice music on and have nice long cuddles.

Or............................go with the wearing either no or edible knickers

sandyballs · 12/02/2004 15:37

That always amuses me - why do men find no knickers so sexy? Would you be driven wild with desire if your man leant across the table in a restaurant and whispered that he'd forgotten to put his jockeys on??? I'd just wet myself laughing.

CountessDracula · 12/02/2004 15:42

LOL Sandyballs!

Springchicken are you that up the duff already?
I had a bath in the hospital when was 40 weeks and hadn't had one for months (am shower person), put the water in and at least half the water shot out as soon as I lay down! Then couldn't get up and had to pull the emergency thing....oh the indignity of it!

SpringChicken · 12/02/2004 15:55

Not quite that bad yet Countess D but there is not a hope in hells chance of DP getting in too!

Taking it in turns is about as close as we would get

Northerner · 12/02/2004 16:02

LOL Sandyballs, the thought of dh seductively whispering he has no pants on makes me piss myself too.

Northerner · 12/02/2004 16:03

And to think of him wearing edible pants. Eugh!

Here's what I'm doing. Sitting in alone (well with ds) as dh is working. All of my friends are doing romantic things with their fellas.

Enid · 12/02/2004 16:25

Think on balance I might give the edible pants a miss. Not that you could buy them in my local Dorset town anyway - well you could but they'd probably be Combine Harvester flavour. Might do the same as you beetroot but substitute Amelie and When Harry Met Sally.

Shave your p.hair into a heart shape and dye it red!

Have a big red ribbon ready, run up to bed before him, undress, tie ribbon around you, get under duvet, as he walks into bedroom throw back covers!!

If they don't work romance wise I guarantee you you'll both crack up laughing which is better than soppy romance anyway!!

Thomcat · 12/02/2004 16:37

other more serios ideas,

food wise - make smoked salmon to strat and cut toast and salmon into heart shapes. make all food as herat shaped as poss

(this is all done with humour btw, it's all a bit tounge in cheek).

Leave him sexy / silly / naughty / loving messages on bits of paper all over the house, hidden uder loo seat, in fridge, onhis pillow etc etc.
