Does anyone else ever feel smothered by their family? I love them with all my heart but sometimes i feel that all I am is a skivy,, it does not matter if I'm on my feet night and day nothing is ever done or tidy or clean. I feel I'm constantly on my feet for everyone and everything else and I am never any further forward.

How old are your DCs? I think we have to guard against raising children who expect things to be fetched for/brought to them. For example, if they are watching TV and want a drink, they get it for themselves like you would have to. As soon as they can be trusted to carry plates etc without dropping them, they don't get up and leave the table after a meal without taking their own plate etc to the sink/ dishwasher. Just little things, that remind them that Mum is not their servant.
