I am not about to get divorced by the way but someone very close to me may do SadSad.

But

if a house is jointly owned, who gets it? how does the money side of things work out? If children are involved does the dh always have to pay maintenance?

In terms of the house and finaces, unless the couple can agree to a settlement, the court will split it 50/50 UNLESS there are special circumstances.

Again, unless the couple have an agreement regarding maintenace for the children, the CSA may get involved and then I think its 20% of dh salary

There was a programme about this on Radio 4 "Moneybox" the other day - think it might have been yesterday. You can probably download it from the net this week.
