Changed my name for this as I'm a bit embarrased Blush Last night me and DP were at the train station and he was talking to one of the station workers about a trains arrival time, for some stupid reason I had this massive urge to poke DP in the eye and I could'nt control it, I poked him in the eye for a laugh but he was furious as I showed us both up in front of the station man, DP then stormed off and the station man gave me a funny look and everyone was looking at us. Dp hasnt spoken to me since, I was just trying to have a laugh but I realise that what I did was wrong but DP says he is sick of how childish I am and he said he's had enough. I dont know why I do these things, I just get huge urges to do stupid things sometimes, I have done ever since been little.

My mum said I was in the wrong and should change the way I am but my friend says it sounds like DP is just being grumpy (which he is alot of the time), how would your DP's have reacted in this situation? What should I do/say? I cant promise him Ill never do something like this again.

Well, how would you react if he poked you in the eye "for a laugh"??

Stupid and childish.

zippitippitoes · 01/06/2006 16:14

well i think you have to revise your idea of a joke...no wonder he was angry and upset

CountessDracula · 01/06/2006 16:15

Blimey

You could have blinded him Shock

meowmix · 01/06/2006 16:15

um. I'd be extremely unimpressed. even my 2yo knows thats a dumb idea.

are you a troll?

foxinsocks · 01/06/2006 16:16

I think you need to see the doctor

SHHHH · 01/06/2006 16:16

sorry but im pmsl at this (sorry not much help to you Blush.) TBH I also do silly stuff to dh and vice versa yeah its a laugh BUT at times I do go to far and end up being clumsy and hurting him...Blush.
We used to have "play flights" but I ended up getting to competitive..ooopppsss....

I wouldn't stress to much over it..Those that saw you don't know you so nothing to worry about imo.

misdee · 01/06/2006 16:17

ROFPMSL!!!

misdee · 01/06/2006 16:17

sorry but you were naughty!!! Grin

expatinscotland · 01/06/2006 16:18

I don't find poking someone in the eye funny. Sorry. Not my idea of a laugh. Stupid and childish, really.

If you have the urge to do stupid stuff, how about being an adult, exercising some self-control and just not doing those things?

Might help w/relationships and such like.

suejonez · 01/06/2006 16:18

I'd be grumpy too if someone poked me in the eye because they thought it was funny. Are you really listening to him when he says he's had enough? He may be making a serious point which goes far beyond being grumpy about this particular episode. He probably wants a relationship with a woman not a 6 year old.

Why can't you promise not to do it again? You manage not to push people under trains or buses (I assume) so you are able to control yourself when you choose to.

Sorry if that sounds harsh.

misdee · 01/06/2006 16:19

i think someone is pulling our leg...........

or poking us in the eyes Wink

expatinscotland · 01/06/2006 16:19

Imagine if we all acted on our 'urges'?

WTF?

I mean, he was trying to talk to someone.

SaintofGeorgia · 01/06/2006 16:20

I'd be fecking furious if someone poked me in the eye but hey, maybe I'm biased since I'm going blind anyway. Sensitive subject.
Angry

Stupid, stupid, stupid. Grow up.

Twiglett · 01/06/2006 16:20

but its not a joke .. nor is it funny

its wanton cruelty wrapped up in a pretence of a joke

like 'I'm mad me' you should be ashamed and apologetic

SHHHH · 01/06/2006 16:21

I think most of you are being harsh..It was only a joke...yeah maybe she needs to think about her future with dp but as for needing "help"..????

JessaJam · 01/06/2006 16:21
SHHHH · 01/06/2006 16:22

misdee Grin..!!!!

zippitippitoes · 01/06/2006 16:22

is it the thread that is supposed to be a joke?? Like a play on words referring to another thread???

Twiglett · 01/06/2006 16:22

of course its not a joke

does it start with people or animals walking into a pub or someone knocking on a door (knock, knock)

there is nothing remotely humorous in making someone else feel pain or look small .. its infantile, egoistic and plain stupid

expatinscotland · 01/06/2006 16:23

jokes are supposed to be funny, though. sorry but i just can't see what's funny about poking someone in the eye.

that's fucked up.

if that were my partner's idea of a joke he'd be on the kerby PDQ.

foxinsocks · 01/06/2006 16:24

zippi, you are too deep

if you really can't stop yourself acting on your urges, then you need proper help

suejonez · 01/06/2006 16:25

zippitippitoes, your theory would make more sense than poking someone in the eye "for a laugh" (your laugh I assume not theirs).

FrannyandZooey · 01/06/2006 16:34

It sounds like you have some sort of mental problem or disorder, I don't want to insult you by using the wrong terms but I think you have realised yourself that this is not normal and that you have a problem stopping yourself from acting on these inappropriate urges. It sounds like more than just being childish or having a silly sense of humour.

I don't think any of us will be able to advise you as this is such an unusual situation, but I think you should speak to a medical person who could help you or at least point you in the direction of someone who could help.

I do feel sorry for you, reading your post, and it doesn't sound like your dp has any inkling of what is wrong either, only that he has had enough of it. I hope you can get some help.

Ledodgyherring · 01/06/2006 16:36

Is fromt hat same troll that keeps posting about mad people doing mad things uncontrollably?

Ledodgyherring · 01/06/2006 16:36
