I'm angry that my DD (5) all dressed up to go to a party with her dad, was showing off her dress, hair etc, she was completely ignored. When he did respond it was with irony/sarcasm.
It's sad that she will learning what some men can be like from her father (exh).

Hi Hare,

I will admit straight away I am feeling rather stabby towards him on your behalf when I read your post. yes she might learn what he is like, but on the bright side it means she will learn that they are to be avoided at all costs, you couldnt buy that sort of lesson.

Another positive is that she will have the certain knowledge that her Mother loves her always has and will, and will know not to grow up to be like her fuckwit old man. I am sure she looked like a fairytale princess and oo'd and aa'd in the right places, irony and sarcasm go right over their heads. But hey if he trys it when she's another 10yrs older she will be so much more in touch with her feelings/attitude I am sure she will give him both guns.

But hopefully he might have fallen under a bus by then.

Grin love your last sentence, GP! Agree with everything else too.

It is sad when a parent is so self-obsessed that they don't notice the beautiful lily under their nose, but you're her main carer and she will gain her strength and love from you.

GP and Jux, thank you both for your wise words. I know my upset is over something low key compared to other people experiences but I worry he pays such little attention to her she will think that is normal and all she deserves.

Snorted at the bus.

In that case may I suggest a nick name of Loreal for her and remind her every day because she's worth it.
