Flirting and eye contact

Was being introduced to someone at the weekend and they looked directly into my eyes, then looked me up and down and seem to hold my gaze just a second too long. Maybe that's the way he normally looks at people when being introduced to them but I thought it was a bit unusual or maybe not. Am I reading too much into it ?

Yes, it does sound like you are.

VitoCorleone · 11/06/2013 13:01

Urgh i hate people who 'look you up and down'

blueshoes · 11/06/2013 13:05

Looking up and down whilst you are still holding his gaze is creepy. It is sending a signal to you that he is a sleazeball.

beeny · 11/06/2013 13:07

Did you enjoy it ?

blueshoes · 11/06/2013 13:13

Good question, beeny.

OP, not to say you should not go for it!

PamelaBarnes · 11/06/2013 13:16

beeny just thought it was unusual. Always hard to explain these situations in words!

not necessarily sleazy! might have liked your clothes and your eyes! jeez.. but yeah could be flirting too look up what that tracey cox says perhaps??

CogitoErgoSometimes · 11/06/2013 13:29

Of course you're not overreacting. It's like people who hold your hand a bit too long after shaking or stand a little too close or casually touch you when they're talking.... brrrr....

PamelaBarnes · 11/06/2013 13:40

Unusual though it was, yes, it was a nice feeling.

Then why are you complaining, or is this a humblebrag?
