Lundy Bancroft- the exercises, are they vital?

I've downloaded should I stay or should I go by LB onto my kindle the evening. I'm really hoping it might help me. I think a couple of his other books might be more helpful but I felt I couldn't wait for delivery and it was the only one available on the Kindle.

I've dived right into it, it resonates very much. I am shattered and feeling emotionally battered- I feel like reading it and skimming over the exercises bit. I thought I could reread it again and do the exercises then?

Has anyone read it without the exercises?

Lundy books work best if you understand that you are going to have to refer back to them, as sometimes you gain better understanding through a different perspective.

Read the book, and do the exercises after, if that's what works for you.

Remind yourself that the more effort you are able to put in to healing yourself, the faster you will heal.
