What to buy the in-laws?

DH and I have had a HUGE amount of help from his parents recently as they've helped us move from one side of the country to another and paid for half of the furniture in our new place (!)

I want to buy them something to say a massive thank you, but can't decide on what.

Any ideas? Our budget could stretch to £100 for something REALLY good.

We wanted to give my parents something to say thank you a few years ago, and after realising that they had everything they needed and our budget was not huge (roughly similar to yours, maybe a bit more) we decided to make them a hamper.

I bought a big hamper basket, and filled it with all the food (and some of the drinks) that I knew they loved. Lovely treats that they wouldn't necessarily buy themselves.

It went down very well and was better than a pre-filled hamper because it was so personalised to their tastes.

As we're now a little further away from them I'd probably need to be smart about the posting. I've found this hamper company that lets you choose exactly what goes into the hamper - has anyone used them before?

If distance is an issue, have you considered doing an online shop and getting it delivered to them? Obviously it wouldn't be in a hamper, but you could probably get a lot more for your money than with a hamper company?

Just had a look and Harrods have free delivery at the moment.

Do they drink?

Majestic wine do gift deliveries (or you could just arrange a regular delivery to their address). Their website isn't opening for me at the moment, so won't try to link. But we've had some really good stuff from them in the past.

I don't know the hamper company you linked, but Fortnum's hampers are lovely and they have them in your price range.

Fortnum looks lovely, but I really like the idea of choosing what goes into them. Have just picked out a load of different things from that yourhamper site. Crossing my fingers it works out well - looks v lovely but you never know. I'll let you all know what they think!
