Hello everyone!

I've been directed here by jynier who said I should share my previous post on here.

I'm just trying to drum up some support and ideas. Any will be very gratefully received. Smile

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 12/05/2013 10:51

Harriet, thank you for your support Smile an update for you...

111 were very speedy and have given her the all clear. A totally inert substance by all accounts. She said she might have some sloppy ploppies though.

The irony is that that is the only time we use sudocrem - on the few occasions that she's loose so a bit redConfused Otherwise, because of the washable nappies, she never gets nappy rash.

Hi Clairecoo I'll check out your post when I've got time later.

Oh dear minikitty! Glad she's ok though :). Babybear hasn't done this yet, but it's only a mattercof time, by all accounts! Interested in what you said about nappy rash though, Babybear has washable nappies and still gets quite bad nappy rash Confused

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 12/05/2013 11:19

Oh really, bears? which do you use? We use wee pickles in the day and close parent at night. This pot of sudo is the original one we were given when she was born 18 months ago Grin

God Harriet that must have been an awful shock Sad

OP posts:
themidwife · 12/05/2013 11:42

Hello! Sorry been busy working!
Don't worry Kitty - all baby lotions & potions are designed to be safe to be consumed - when you think of the contamination in infant formula a bit of sudocreme isn't going to hurt her!
I'm loving the "uh oh!" Smile

Harriet - yes metal spikes def more terrifying. I know what you mean about the thud thud of your heart! Like when I left the cot side down with DS2 & he fell out head first onto a hard floor! BlushBlushBlush

BearsInMotion · 12/05/2013 14:26

We're on the Tots Bots easy fit here!

themidwife · 12/05/2013 15:03

I got on really well with bamboozles Smile

BearsInMotion · 12/05/2013 15:33

She's ok 90% of the time, but has had a couple of really nasty spells, blistering and all sorts :( She had thrush cream and it went away eventually. It was just after she started nursery, so I wondered if they used a different cream or didn't change her enough (we do have to change her more often than if she was in disposables I think!).

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 12/05/2013 17:55

Gosh that sounds awful, bears Sad The blistering I mean.

I definitely change more often than my disposable friends. I think they take this as a sign that the disposables are superior. I personally hate the look of a totally soaked, sagging wee, drenched nappy so I would probably change more frequently either way Smile

Yay themidwife Grin.

What do you mean contaminants in formula Shock

Spoke to my friend about the community you are interested in; he said it requires a large stake of cashiche to get in, is this right? Doesn't sound very communard to me? Any news on that?

OP posts:
clairecoo · 12/05/2013 18:06

Thanks Kitty, it's much appreciated.

themidwife · 12/05/2013 18:54

You buy your own property within the community at the current market value. They have properties of all sizes. Everyone has their own front door. It's not communal living, it's having a share of the organic farm & it's produce & the gorgeous surroundings. There are some communal things like saturday pot luck supper & bonfire night & christmas but otherwise everyone does their own thing. You have to commit to working on the farm a few hours a week either practically or administratively. You can sell your property if you wish to move any time to someone on the waiting list. We have been invited to a visitors weekend in September. Slooooowww process!!

themidwife · 12/05/2013 18:59

Infant formula is at high risk of contamination either accidentally or by evil nutters. Most people don't make it properly (water too cold) so bacteria grows at an alarming rate once opened (usually from dirty hands). Shock

Blimey, having never used formula, Littlebittykitty being a total boob monster Wink , I had no idea about formula contaminants. I'm well aware of the nestle babymilk campaign though and as a consequence have boycotted nestle and all its associated products since eve was a lass Grin

Thank you for the link, Harriet. I shall delve deeper when littlekitty is asleep.

I've eaten far too much today and look 8 months rather than 8 weeks pregnant Blush

Littlekitty had such a great day running all over her Gobfather's mansion. He taught her to do his signature 'robot dance' Grin

themidwife · 12/05/2013 20:15

Sounds a great day Kitty! I was a baby milk action campaigner in the early 90s Pre midwifery. Not much has changed sadly. They just advertise follow on milk instead Sad

BearsInMotion · 12/05/2013 20:17

Wow. Didn't expect formula bashing on this thread. Leaving now. :(
