ta all
Apparently it is a bleed not a clot. they've got her in the ironically named observation ward. in two hrs there I only saw a disgruntled cleanerHmm DH still in bits. By 3pm I need to decide what to tell the dc - grandma was supposed to be doing the school run so they are all going to know something is going on straight away. Poor things have had to deal with so much. we have been straight with them over dh's cancer and can only think we should do the same with this. We do it so that they know first and can ask stuff, and they never overhear and start imagining terrible stuff instead. seems to have worked so far. will be playing this one down tbh.

MrsShrek3 · 20/05/2013 14:16

sorry for rambleBlush

themidwife · 20/05/2013 14:50

Yes I think play this one down. Aneurysms are fairly common & won't necessarily lead to a full blown stroke if she gets on the right medication. They've got enough to worry about with Daddy. Hope they're ok. Thanks

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 20/05/2013 15:37

Oh how difficult, Mrs. Particularly, I'd imagine, with your son who has Asperger's. I hope it goes as well as can be expected. How does she seem? Is she conscious?
Thanks Thanks Thanks

so sorry I appear to have hijacked the thread somewhat today Blush

she is sleeping but seems ok (in the cirs). on her way to neuro hospital now. dc were ok with the info I gave them. sticking to facts and answering questions works best. DS1 has explained some phsiology stuff to the younger two (aspie geek scientist, obv) and they all seem happy enough with the explanations they have got, and obv that Grandma is being well looked after. I have warned them that dh is upset and therefore grumpy... only fair to forewarn them imho so they are likely to be a bit less boisterous and hopefully more considerate. DH is taking it badly so far Sad

MrsShrek3 · 20/05/2013 17:22

mw - left side paralysis but she seems able to wriggle her leg a bit. talk of surgery at neuro centre???

themidwife · 20/05/2013 18:11

I guess it depends on the damage caused?

jynier · 20/05/2013 23:57

Hugs from me, too, Mrs. - to all of you!

My DD1 is still not feeling well after her long flight; says that she is feeling dizzy! She is a very experienced long-haul traveller. Is this normal jetlag? Would appreciate your views!

MrsShrek3 · 21/05/2013 01:51

unsurprisingly I am up... anyone else?

cafecito · 21/05/2013 03:44

Hello Mrs. how are you? silly question cafe, silly question . I'm so sorry to hear about MIL. Yes bleeds are common, but you know what, they often completely resolve. I have seen lots of patients with terrible subdurals etc, and appalling CT scans..loss of function, etc.. and within a few months, they are back to normal. I know that sounds dramatic, but prognosis is pretty good more often than not, if it's caught quickly.
that's my optimism over and done with
what a shit day you've had Shock Sad [hugs hugs hugs] Thanks Wine how's DH ?

MrsShrek3 · 21/05/2013 05:35

He he Harriet!
My little DooDoo may not have had sootykin fun but she definitely liked posting things, mostly in the bin!! She's finally grown out of it so I don't have to check the bin every day anymore!

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 21/05/2013 22:00

Littlekitty loves putting clean laundry in her wet nappy bin. Confused She also has a wastepaper basket outside her room which Jane used as a bin but is purely for her to post into. Grin

OP posts:
KittyAndTheFontanelles · 21/05/2013 22:03

Who the crap is Jane? Confused I meant isn't used as a bin.

OP posts:
themidwife · 21/05/2013 23:10

You could name the bin Jane Kitty? She could keep Stars' mates company! Grin
I used to find shoes, phones, clothes, cups, cutlery - in fact everything I kind of needed in there! She liked the sound of the swing lid! GrinGrin
