I'm sure this has been asked a million times so sorry to repeat but if a couple split up who are both named on a baby's birth certificate - what are the parental rights and how do you work out living arrangements? The baby is 15 months.

Being named on birth certificate gives the father parental responsibility ie the legal right to be involved in the life of his child - able to give consent for procedures, expectation of ongoing contact if parents split up, etc. The details of how much time the child spends with each parent is for agreement between the parents in each case, with court arbitrating if parents can't agree. Contact ranges from a daytime visit every week or two, to 50:50.
