new relationship dilemma

Ok well here's the thing, me and a friend have just admitted to each other we really like each other. Now the problem is seven years ago in college he went out with my best friend. Now that relationship only lasted a week because she liked him and he didnt feel the same way. All they did was kiss, nothing else. So now with it being seven years down the line, I don't know wether I should feel bad or not for liking my best friends ex the fact their relationship lasted a week. She also went out with one of exs and I said to her it was fine but I don't know if she will be as cool with us as I was with them. I say this because back in college me an her ex kissed and she didnt speak to us for a week. I'm in a dilemma because we both really like each other and want to make a go of things, but she is stuck in the back of my mind

If you would be swayed by her opinion, then tell/ask her.

If you're going to see him regardless, just do it.

The phrase you want is 'all's fair in love and war'. Seven years ago is ancient history. After a week I don't think you can even call him her ex quite honestly. If she falls out with you for going out with someone from that far back, she's not actually much of a friend.

You better have the man, if she's the kind of friend who would be mad over this.

Chances are that she even forgot she dated him, and it would probably a week of not talking. :)

Thanks, kind of what I already thought the fact it is so far in the past. Just needed to hear it from other people, I'm the kind of person that understands that yes they went out for a week when they were like sixteen, yes it was only a week but I feel like I should just say "look this is what is going to happen". The fact she dated one of my exes I feel that she should be cool with it.
