celebrating lovely dh / dp

As there have been some amazing examples of advanced asshattery and DP with aspirations of adequacy as functional adults I thought it would be nice to have a thread showing some sweet little things dh/ do have done as a look the next guy may not be such an as that one.

My dh has just taken all 3 did out for the next four hours to let me sleep. They're all preschool and have been I'll all week. He's also exhausted but he thinks I need it more.

Mine surprised me last week with tickets to Albert Hall to see London philharmonic orchestra. He also bought me a new dress i enjoyed every minute even though i had the runs

Mine has got up with our very poorly DC's this morning, as I'm ill too, he's done all the house work, washing and dog walk, he really is a lovely DP mostly

Mine has promised to come with me to watch Robbie Williams in the summer as my best mate can no longer make it from New Zealand and all my other friends are either working or pregnant. He bloody hates Robbie Williams.

My husband is wonderful every single day. We do argue sometimes, buy always discuss things like adults. We genuinely love and respect each other so much that we make a really great team. I feel sad when people spend time 'slagging' off their dp dh as life is so short and you should never take love for granted.

DH has let me have a lie-in every weekend (both days) for the past few weeks as I am pregnant and exhausted with 2yo DD.

He is also just generally wonderful and amazing

i've been lurking and its been a tough week on relationships board. mine did last nights washing up and we had gorgeous tender "lurving" last night too.

We have so much fun together.14 years later an we still laugh and hug and kiss and tell each other how much we love each other every day. I might have some failings as a mum but I am confident that my son feels loved and secure in this family.

I had a horrendous day at work yesterday that was all down to a stupid mistake on my part. DP doesn't live with me, but he came over, hugged me better, listened to me, dried my tears, did silly things to make me laugh and was one hundred percent on my side.

This week he has also bought me flowers, done the shopping, had a glass of wine waiting for me when I came in, given me back rubs and cooked my dinner.

He's amazing in bed as well

He's bloody marvellous and I wish I'd met him years ago

I agree there has been a lot of sadness and horrendous DH behaviour on the relationships board recently.

My DH has been my rock for nearly thirty years. We have just got back from a lovely meal out, just the two of us. He suggested it and we had a great time.

DH is an arse sometimes, but everyday he tells me he loves me. and i get big cuddles. he's still an arse tho......

I'm in the early stage of pregnancy with DC3 and have felt nauseous and knackered for the last fortnight. He's got up with the kids every morning, despite some late/distrubed nights, so I could sleep. He also bought me home a Maltesers easter bunny chocolate on his way home last night :)

I had flu last week and was really, really rough. DH spent 4 days running around after me, making me cups of tea while I died in bed, bringing hot water bottles, doing all the house jobs and generally being kind, considerate and doing everything he could to make me feel better.

I was however a bit when he came in to the bedroom and asked me if I wanted the vet to check me whilst she was TB testing the cattle (DH is a farmer) as it saved going out to the doctor...

my DP is lovely. Just lovely. he is sexy, thoughtful, caring and would do anything for me or my DC. he loves us all :-)

DH has taken over pretty much all the housework, used to be 50/50 anyway but I barely lift a finger now I'm preggers. He creams my bump every night and speaks to our little one. Every day I am grateful for him. I like that we don't take life too seriously and don't argue (I can't be with someone who argues). Don't agree on everything but we just talk about it until we come up with a solution. He's so utterly logical and I love it.

I had Friday off work, weather was going to be too poor to do what I wanted so DH suggested going out to lunch, this turned into dinner in Bruges.

Just back, 'twas lovely.

DH and I both and a day off last week. We dumped the DC at school, and as the weather was shit we went back to bed together until it was time to collect DC from school. He was the one who ventured downstairs to get coffee and toast at half time.

Best use of a day off ever.

My DH makes me laugh and giggle and is a very generous soul. He is also utterly loyal and very patient with some of my less attractive personality traits. We've recently had a baby and though we argue more than we used to, I'm confident that we're a strong team, there for each other as well as our son. I love him

I'm delighted with this thread.

My husband works a demanding job but every morning empties the dishwasher and packs lunches, and every evening puts the kitchen to bed. Meal plans and does online Tesco shops twice a week. Always helps with bedtime, always gives me lie ins and breakfast in bed at the weekend, will take over completely with the kids any time. Cleans the chickens out every weekend. Recently took them both alone on a weekend camp thing when I was too ill to go. Chopped down a tree last weekend. Made a bike shed a couple of years ago. The list goes on and on. (I'm not a complete lazy arse, BTW.)

He sometimes appears to worship the ground I walk on, for some unfathomable reason.

When are have guests, I get really stressed about food, so he just cooks every time. I don't even know how to do a roast meal, really, cause he always does it. Even at Christmas. Especially at Christmas.

He's ace.

My DP is an arse sometimes too - but this past month he has been my rock, im poorly (in my head) and he hasn't judged, he has looked after me and i have never felt so loved.

What a wonderful thread,

I currently have the cold/chesty cough mix going on, and DH has done everything for me. Made me food, walked the mad cocker, done all the washign and cleaning

he also has been helping me rub vapour rub on.....though it has led to some sticky situations shall we say hahah so I think that was for personal gain IMO! hehe

I first married very young and had my first child at 18 and 2nd at 21. I put up with years of da, ea and affairs until I finally chucked him out, didnt think I would ever trust another man.
Then I met my hubbie who really is the love of my life, we have been together 15 amazing, happy years and went on to have 3 children together.
He has been an amazing father to all 5 of my children. He is currently serving 7 months in Afghanistan he queues up and calls me at every opputunity to let me and the kids know how much he loves us, ( often so tired he slurs his words) whilst some of his colleagues go straight to bed he says he cant sleep until he has spoken to us because he knows we worry.
