Advice for getting back out there

Hi I separated from my STBXH last year and now thinking about getting myself back out dating again
I met my ex when I was young so have been out of the loop for nearly 13 years
Just wondering what happens these days. Do people still meet on nights out or is it all online dating ?
Anyone who's been in this situation and met someone please give me some advice I'm not ready to give up on love

I never meet anyone on a night out and from what I hear about online dating it's a complete lottery. I've always found a good place to start is 'shared interests' closely followed by 'mutual friends'. Widen your social circle, engage in activities that men might find as interesting as you do (so dodge the flower arranging classes... ) and put the word out among friends and colleagues.

Hi OP, no advice I'm afraid, just wanted to say I am in the same boat and finding it hard. Meeting people in my 30s seems much harder than it was in my late teens.
I went to a club with a few friends but was put off by how young all the guys looked.
I have just joined an online dating site in the last couple of days but that is not great either. Most of the messages are from guys 20+ years older than me or in text speak which I cannot stand. In the last couple of days I have also aquired a bit of a stalker, the phone numbers of 2 men which I did not ask for and an offer of a good spanking - WT actual F?
Think I will delete the account and take Cogitos advice!
