Just had to laugh at my DP, he's always trying to make out that my 8 year old is a bit 'odd' and he tries to re-assure me of this by telling me what he was like at the age of 8.

Apparantly as an 8 year old he used to go through the catalogue looking at the womens underwear section.

He also had a massive crush on a teacher.. (at 8 remember..)

And now, whilst talking about kids clothes he said "I was about his age when I started getting into dressing smart all the time wearing chinos, shirts and jackets etc..."

I actually laughed out loud at this, he must have been the only 8 year old in Britain walking around in shirts and dress jackets! He does say some stupid things sometimes, Im sure he confuses 8 with 15!

My brother was about 13 yo when he discovered clothes and he made some real bad choices. One Christmas his girlfriend bought him on his suggstion a white silk (ish) scarf, white cloves and white shoes which he wore with a black suit. He looked like bloody Marcel Marceau FFS!! I constantly remind him of this fashion faux pas whenever I can. I think he then moved on to a Fun Boy Three type of look. The ironic thing is he says I dressed bad - Whatever

you ought to ask his mum. you'll probably find he was wearing jumpers tucked into tracky bottoms.

i think it might be possible to have a crush at 8 - more possible than the other stuff as you'd remember which teacher it was by what year you were in.

and i think my dh's catalogue-perusing days were around the age of 11 or 12!
