Friend who was abused as a child - possibly triggering for some

My friend told me tonight that she has been referred for counselling for depression but she didn't want to talk about her childhood. She said she was physically and sexually abused as a child - something she's never said out loud before, and I never had any idea. There is a 3 month wait on the NHS.

Can anyone recommend any books or resources she might find helpful as she is distraught at having faced up to this for the first time and now in limbo for 3 months.

Thanks in advance.

I can't do the posh linky thing so, here goes nothing!

www.thesurvivorstrust.org/find-support/

Lots of helpline numbers and survivors resources, hopefully something will be near where you live.
