So he was a cocklodger. What does that say about me?

I'm staring another thread because I've come to the conclusion he was a cocklodger. I googled it. He fits the description almost to a tee.

No wonder he went so easily. He must have been waiting daily for me to get a grip and kick him out. And he had the nerve to say my timing was bad, he'd got nowhere to go and no worldly goods to show.

FFS! I need to rant some?..

Maybe being a bit naive here...what's a cocklodger?

Nagoo · 09/02/2013 20:37

It says you have learned to recognise a cocklodger.

The rest of your life will be better :)

SoleSource · 09/02/2013 20:38

Easily taken advantage.of because you were not aware of his ibtentions. You did not read the signals.

happened to me.too, he stole.my.passport, a bag of valuable stuff and a car.

SoleSource · 09/02/2013 20:39

I still feel really foolish five years on. It will be.five years since he left this December

What a cunt I.hope karma is true

MikeOxardAndWellard · 09/02/2013 20:40

I agree with Nagoo. Well done and congrats! x

SoleSource · 09/02/2013 20:40

he was my.tipping point. Bastard!!!!!

Monty27 · 09/02/2013 20:40

Besame you've made great progress, recognising it and acting on it. Well done.

littlemisssarcastic · 09/02/2013 20:41

Every cocklodger I have ever heard about always says they've got nowhere to go.

Lueji · 09/02/2013 20:42

And he had the nerve to say my timing was bad, he'd got nowhere to go and no worldly goods to show.

Because he is a cocklodger, instead of doing something for himself.
Tough.

Well done getting rid. :)

SoleSource · 09/02/2013 20:44

Bravo, Besame!

BesameBesame · 09/02/2013 20:46

Well, one of my RL friends said early on 'blimey he's almost too good to be true isn't he?"

What does it say about you? That you've been a fool to believe that a man who was out to take advantage of you had any interest in you over and above furtherng his own ends.

We live and learn and some lessons are more expensive than others. Next time watch your purse as well as your heart.

BesameBesame · 09/02/2013 20:53

He stopped off at same RL friends house on the way to where he moved from and told them "Besame is so stressed". I reckon he stopped short of saying I was mad because he'd never have got away with it. RL friend suggested cocklodger give me some time/space alone and maybe we could try again. Cocklodger won't hear of it, it's either all or nothing. Of course it is, because he has to do sweet fuck all.

Christ I'd love to have a conversation with his EXDW (and no. I wasn't an affair partner).

Aaaaarrggghhh!!!

True izzy. Fortunately I think I've had a very, very lucky escape.

What I won't be foolish about when he comes to collect the rest of his stuff is the 'poor me' charm. It will be waiting for him at the doorstep.

OP posts:
izzyizin · 09/02/2013 21:11

It's either 'all or nothing'? That'll be a 'nothing' except a time and date to collect the pile of bin bags which will be waiting for him outside your front door while you relax inside with your feet up, tv/dvd on, and champagne ready to pop when he and his motley possessions have departed Grin

All of these manipulative twats are ham actors could win awards in the 'poor me' stakes. Don't be fooled again, honey. It's always been about him and it always will be.

BesameBesame · 09/02/2013 21:16

By the time I told him it was over I knew that it was all about him.

That's why I was careful with my words. I didn't mention him not making a contribution to the expenses, or the other things which I had come to resent.

I said the only thing i knew he couldn't manipulate. I said my feelings for him had gone.

Even he had to admit he couldn't argue with that. Twunt.

Besame you did brilliantly. Grin x

BesameBesame · 09/02/2013 22:50

Blush why thank you sole. I am rather proud of myself and that has nothing to do with Wine at all.

I am celebrating by posting my dubious wisdom on any other thread that'll have me tonight, secure in the knowledge that 1. cocklodger won't make stupid comments about feminist lesbian man-haters, and 2. He can't search my lappy history. Stupid man.

OP posts:
SoleSource · 09/02/2013 22:53

He can just cock off!!!

BesameBesame · 09/02/2013 22:57

But you know what?

I know FOR SURE that he'll be OD already asap looking for the next 'replacement' and there are lots of women who want to look after someone like him.

Thank fuck it's not me.

Well its been 2 years since MNers told me my DP was a cocklodger and to LTB, for once I listened and packed his bags. He still pesters me now saying he misses me and wants to come back. I don't reply cos he isn't worth the simple effort to text. All he misses is someone to fetch n carry for him.
