There is a dedicated 'Force's' page but there are many more of us that live for the majority of the time without our partners.
Anyone want to join me in a glass of Wine/Gin/Vodka/whatever your tipple, for laughs, tears and support through the highs and lows?

Hi orange

I'm in the same boat. I'm in UK dh works full time in europe, see him everyother weekend for a night! He's just gone back this afternoon. Feels like he has only been here for a few hours Sad

Hi ilove

Sad It's horrid isn't, whey they are here time goes so quickly and when they are gone time drags.

My DH is currently in America but his work takes him world wide. Not seen him for 3 months but he'll be back this month for a few days and then gone again!

Wasn't sure where to post this really! Do you think here is the right place or can you suggest a better location?

Sure its ok here!

Have you considered going with him? My dh is in a permanent job abroad but we have 2 young dc who I am reluctant to uproot from school to gosomewhere they don't speak the language (sure they would learn- it's me who struggles!)

I have just started in this situation although only temporarily! DH had always worked away for up to 2 weeks but is now in Dubai until me and DCs join him in a few months.

I'm finding it hard at the moment, the boys are only 2 and 4 so although lovely quite hard at times. Trying to sort house out to be rented and finding DS1 a school for when we go (major stress!!) and it's all feeling quite lonely...... I normally am fine and cope but it's all tooth this week!

I will be joining for a large gin by bedtime

ilove, he moves around too much, nature of the job! We have a 16 month old and a baby on the way too (one very well timed SWI on a visit home Blush ). He is generally located between 2 continents though so perhaps when baby has arrived it might be possible to try and catch up with him more often. Kids def pick up the lingo easier than us! Is it somewhere you could see yourself living?

jo wow, what an exciting adventure. I have a friend that moved to Abu Dhabi because of OH work and she loves it, been there years now and not looked back. I think there is a big ex-pat community. Is there an ex-pat forum that you can join to help you?

I hate being away from DH I go through real low points!
