If you are worried about your safety(which you obviously must be) I would ring the Womens aid help line 0808 2000 247 and ask them for advice on getting yourself into a shelter by whichever means possible

The one I was in, you had to go to a shopping centre and the refuge sent you a taxi the first time, but after that you could take a car, lots of luggage etc. I would just like to say I was very happy in a refuge with my children and I am still happy now :))

Yes, you can take your car. A few of the service users I was in refuge with had driven themselves, they hadn't been collected.

Yes I parked on site so you couldn't see my car from the road. It was very local to where we lived though so that may have been an exception.
