How on earth do you still have sex...

Once kids come along?!
Genuine question! Mine are 10, 4 & 1. The middle one sleeps like a stone, but the littlest is up at a stair creak and my eldest is wide awake till past our bedtime.
I give in !

GP's? Babysitters? While they are at school/nursery (not your youngest yet). VVV quietly? Lol, I can see your problem but at their age they probably don't hear as much or put 2 & 2 together, especially if after midnight.
But what do I know as only got one, who has always slept through since 9 weeks old ( 9 years, still snoozing well ;-) )

nokidshere · 14/01/2013 00:24

quietly?

delilah88 · 14/01/2013 14:42

I reckon just do it when the baby is asleep with your door closed. If other DCs hear then that's ok, they'll just learn it's what you do in private. Nothing wrong with realising your parents do it.

twinklesparkles · 14/01/2013 17:39

Quietly with a lock on your door? :)

BouncyPenguin · 14/01/2013 17:47

Sex? What's that??!

FauxFox · 14/01/2013 17:54

Downstairs?

Dirtymistress · 14/01/2013 17:59

Mostly downstairs. I've got a not very brilliant at sleeping 15th month old and am 31 weeks with the second but we still manage it most days. Sex is a habit. The more you do it, the more you want it. You don't want to get out of the swing of it or you'll find that months pass without it and you barely notice. Far better to make time for it. I mean it's not as involved as was pre-DC but still delicious.

lalalonglegs · 14/01/2013 18:06

^^Most days? Shock

ihearsounds · 14/01/2013 18:14

Quietly. Downstairs. In the shower. When they are at school/college/work/sleepovers/play dates. If we didn't have sex because of light sleepers, wouldn't have had sex for 19 years. But still manage to do it a few times a week.. Oh just before everyone wakes up is a good time as well.

Wecanfixit · 14/01/2013 18:15

Book a room and have a break if you have family of friend that can help out well Valentines is not long away!

Bobothebuilder · 14/01/2013 18:42

No sex here for three years and not likely ever again, so not managing obviously Sad

What time do you go to bed if a 10-year old is managing to outpace you? Confused

When mine were 10 they were in bed by 8.30p.m at the latest, so presumably you don't go to bed before that do you?

Get a lock on your door and honestly, just chill about it a bit. It doesn't kill kids to think their parents have sex.

Arisbottle · 14/01/2013 19:51

I suspect that most people with children are having sex most days because we tend to have more than one child .

We are lucky that our bedroom is set away from the children's so they can't hear us, we do it most mornings and they are fast asleep then,

FreudianLisp · 14/01/2013 19:54

Haven't done it since having kids.

harryhausen · 14/01/2013 20:24

I remember when I was little, my mum and dad would strictly tell us they were going to their room for a 'nap' (I'm sure they locked the door). However they told us their 'nap' was very important and not to disturb them for while. We just excepted it. It was never for long!

I have friends who used to regularly lick themselves in the bathroom and do it 'quietly'. They said it was a bit more edgy than the bedroom.

It is hard, but I'm sure you could think of some places/times.

harryhausen · 14/01/2013 20:26

Oh Lordy!!!! Not LICK themselves.....lock. Lock. LOCK themselves. Fat fingers..Wink

IThinkOfHappyWhenIThinkOfYou · 14/01/2013 20:28

We have 'naps' and do it quietly. Middle of the night too, and when we can bundle them out somewhere. I'm dreading them getting to an age when they go to bed later than us though.

We lick in the bathroom too Wink

Hmm,
Posted this before.
I had a new experience after sex a while ago.
A text from my teenage son ( next door bedroom) telling me we had woken him up (2am).
I did ponder, had he waited until we were 'finished' until he sent text as not to interrupt....... I'm impressed with his manners if he did.
I didn't reply to the text, it has never been mentioned.
