Hi Ladies, not sure where to put this post but really need an opinion well here goes.. I have always got on with my hubbys SIL & have a joke & take the mick out of each other but yesterday it changed.. My DD went to my mother in laws over xmas wearing my fav scarf & left it there my SIL's daughter was coming to visit us so MIL gave it to her to give to me however she forgot to hand it to me when she as leaving.. I did txt my SIL asking politely that the next time she as in LOndon cod she drop it at my MIL'S she never replied so I thought well it's xmas & she's probably busy... She was at my MIL's yesterday when I was there so I casually asked if she had brought it with her to which she replied " I have 100 things going on in my head & thats the bottom of the list probably with the loo rolls which I just remembered to buy* My mother in law said "Charming" My brother in law then said where was it left so I explained to which SIL replied you will never find it in our daughters car.. Well I was livid to say the least & told her I was only asking & to forget it .. We left pretty soon my hubby said "What the hell was that all about she was bloody rude she could have just said she had forgotten without making snide remarks.. I shouldnt let it bother me after all it's only a scarf but if it was the other way around I would have insured that she got it back or anyone else for that matter but that's the sort of person that I am....Am I being over sensitive???

If you normally get on well together it sounds like your SIL was having a really, really bad day. Stressed. Maybe leave it a few days and than ask her - kindly - if she's OK.
