Watching porn with my partner

HighTom · 08/01/2013 18:29

My girlfriend has said she would like to watch a bit of porn with me. I think this would be quite nice for us. Neither of us are into anything weird or 'ewww' in porn.

Can you tell me what sort of thing I should get? I know you'll say 'ask her what she likes' but she says 'surprise me with something/you pick'.

It's a new relationship (2 months) so I don't want to ruin it by picking something she finds off-putting.

I'm just looking for general categories which you think would be a safe bet or definite no-nos - obviously from your point of view.

Would you be offended by lesbian porn? Or should I just stick to a fairly simple 'man + woman + normal sex' thing?

Thanks.

The big tube sites have 'female friendly' categories, which basically seems to mean that the women aren't choked or slapped during it. Charming. But a start?

Forget the porn. Get on with your homework.

Sounds a bit weird. So it's all her idea, but she doesn't want to choose what to watch?

Hmm.

She's not mentioned watching porn together at all has she? You just think it would be nice.

With all these old Adultwork threads that have been bumped, it's my guess that Relationships is currently being besieged by male trolls.

There are a couple of sex-related/affair threads atm that are so clearly bollocks and have been written to show the woman OP as being entirely unreasonable and I'm convinced this lot are behind them.

You should be ashamed of yourself - most porn actresses are slave traded drug addicted vulnerable girls forced into the act by evil pimps.

Or so I've been told on here by other MNetters, alternatively you could try the Pirate remakes as a nice gentle way of easing yourselves into the porn culture.

'HighTom'? Surely that should be 'LowDownDick'?

Most porn 'actresses' are or once were vulnerable young girls, cronullansw. Maybe you should do your homework before implying that other mumsnetters are wrong about this fact.

I'm surprised there's been such a strong reaction to this - hubby and I have occasionally watched porn together when the mood strikes us. He usually lets me pick - a safe bet really as if he chooses the paranoia part of me will start comparing myself to whatever woman/women we're watching. If I pick, I usually choose an orgy type scenario, lots going on at once - and I don't like "plastic" porn so I try to find something a bit more obscure/amateur on You Porn or similar. I am much more fussy than hubby who will pretty much watch anything!!

On the offchance this is a genuine post, hope I have helped.

PS, referring back to letting the man choose... if you DO end up choosing, don't pick porn featuring a skinny bony blonde chick if your girlfriend is a curvy brunette! My hubby made that mistake once and I obsessed about it for WEEKS!

I am sure this is a male troll thread too, probably stoned (note the name).

I'm surprised there's been such a strong reaction to this

Why? This is a board primarily for women after all Hmm

Why would a decent woman (or man) want to contribute to the sex industry by wanking to images of vulnerable women being abused?

Apart from all the other arguments about porn, which I agree with, I have to point out how sad I think it is that a couple in a TWO MONTH relationship is already feeling the need for outside stimulus. Back in the old days, at two months you still couldn't keep your hands off each other without the need for looking at images of others having sex.

Badinage I think you are right about the other threads, particularly one big one.
