My daughter is attending a private school which I have had to pay for, my ex will not contribute a penny, he earns more money than me. Ex also has child benefit for one of my children, therefore if I seek maintenance he can seek maintenance from me for the other child,he doesnt pay a penny in maintenance to me as he has the children three nights per week its madness how the system works.

Can anyone please advise as Im at my wits end with it all!!

well, my son is clearly gifted and talented but as a single FTW mother who gets zip from his father I expect private school is out of the question. But then my DB did fine at local comp back in the day and went to Oxford. Private ed is not mandatory and can still do well without it if you have the right aptitude,

Well, I'm no expert, but everything I've read on here about residency/custody/whatever seems to say that few courts would allocate one parent to have every weekend. Children should have the opportunity to spend weekends with each parent, as well as the working week.
That's what I'd be arguing for.
