Yesterday afternoon after the inlays had gone I cooked dinner.
DH went out with dc's to take pressie to DS's football coach.
DS is very susceptible to stomach bugs.
Footie coach invites them in saying he has sickness bug & DH goes in!
Fast forward to dinner time DS says I'm not hungry I don't feel well, my head's hurting.
I take him into lounge and turn off all lights as he says they're hurting his head.
DH then comes in to say dd wants me to sit with her while she finishes her dinner.
DH takes my place with DS.
DH mumbling ' well you should be in bloody bed if you're not well'
Next thing I know DS crying as DH left him & gone upstairs. DS had asked him to turn his phone off as it hurt his eyes & he'd said oh for gods sake & stormed off upstairs.
I get Dd to finish dinner and she takes herself upstairs.
2 minutes later as I'm trying to clear the table ,that's just been abandoned, dd comes down crying she's hurt her knee.
This starts DS off as its hurting his head.
I can hear DH upstairs on phone.
I manage to get table put away ( only on for Xmas as no space) and load dishwasher.
In the sink there's the pots & pans that need washing.
Go upstairs to get pj's & hear DH is on phone to mobile provider sorting out his phone!!
I take both kids up - calpol DS & he asks to sleep with dad so they go in one room.
I take Dd to bed & fall asleep with her.
An hour later DS comes in with a raging temp saying I'm gonna be sick , but isn't.
We all bed down again & DS wakes to be sick a few hours later.
When I go down to get more calpol DH is watching tv - washing up still in sink. Finished dishwasher still full , finished washing machine still full.
DS is up and down rambling with a high temp until 2.30am
DH gets up around 7am & wakes kids with noise.
I get up at 8.30 after giving up trying to sleep.
We have friends due over tonight for food so I advise them of sickness & they say prob best to drop presents & leave you to get an early night .
I tell DH this & he's like a stroppy kid
' DS will be fine by then..'
What we gonna do with all buffet food?'
'are you still cooking the ham?'
I'm thankful it's his (adult) sons birthday today so he's gone over to see him.
He hadn't even for him a Christmas card & moaned 'where sm I supposed to get one now?!' when I reminded him
( I've bought the birthday cards from us & kids & Xmas cards from kids plus dss's family presents but forgot the card. He's been in a card shop getting cards last week after I said he needed the card but in his words ' I had to buy about 8 cards, I can't remember everything!)
Rant over - sorry it's soooo long but I needed to get it out.
Oh and I've left the washing up in the sink!
