And know I'm sadly far from alone on here. My first time NC this time of year (already failed dismally as couldn't stop myself from reading card from DF which DH had "filed" in the recycling, as requested..no real message, but still broke my heart not to put it up, keep thinking "this might be their last Christmas" "were they so bad?" Etc etc)

Anyway, in parallel to the Stately Homes thread, thought it might be nice to have a positive thread for anyone in similar situation who'd care to join me in sharing our stories of
Christmas now not Christmas past, ifykwim? Christmas cheer and mindfulness, i guess...am trying to move forward.

So, to start, we're trying to build some new traditions with dc- last minute present shopping for them to buy for us on Christmas Eve (Blush), Advent Lucky Dip, Christmas Day buffet

We are also building new traditions into our Christmas by making it a Dc, hubby and I day. No one else. Opening presents before lunch that kind of thing.

Boxing Day buffet and the day after in-laws.

Sounds lovely, fw. Ours just us also- had previously thought "how sad", now am looking forward to focussing just on kids

This will be my first Christmas sans DM/family. I'm seeing her tomorrow morning, but otherwise will be home with boyf, DS and that's it. :)

I'm nervous, but it'll be fine.

I'm LOVING the idea of a Christmas buffet!

: ) hope you enjoy your day!
Yes, Christmas buffet at dc's request- i can be control freak (one gas mild SN so am strict on diet) and this way means they get to choose, like in hotel they said! And easier for me too, double benefit!
