Do you think that would apply to parents and siblings too?

She has one on Toxic Parents. Just google amazon and you can read up about it (reviews etc).

That's great thanks a lot, I've just found her book on toxic parents. I've had a bit of a run in with toxic family and am feeling a bit fragile so am hoping this book will give me what I'm looking for.

John Bradshaw does some good books on dysfunctional families too. E.g. The Family. But they are all good.

OP, if you go on the 'But we took you to Stately Homes' thread (on the top page usually of this forum) there is always a lot of books and websites at the start of the thread as well as helpful support and advice.

I second Susan Forward and I wish you luck.

CreepyLittleBat · 21/12/2012 13:24

So sorry you're going through this. The book by Susan Forward really helps, if only to validate what you're feeling and show you're not alone. Take care x

Thanks everyone, I downloaded the Susan Forward - Toxic Parents book to the kindle last night and read a bit of it, once I've finished I'll check out the John Bradshaw book too.
