How do I set up a Blog

I'm a complete novice and have no idea how to do this but suspect that a blog is my solution to a problem. I'm a mum to 4 kids and my husband (their dad) is just about to start a job that means he will be away for 6 weeks at a time then back for 2 etc. Its been suggested that to reduce the tensions that may arise when he gets back that I keep a daily diary of what's happened during the day and I wondered if a blog might be the best solution.

Try blogspot, or wordpress.com

I'm aware that in the space of 6 weeks life moves on. The kids will get used (as will I) to routine that I will end up putting in place just as a way of coping etc. Although 6 weeks is a blink in time I'm aware that an awful lot of things can change in that time that he wont be aware of. Our 3 year old's language changes daily etc. Two of our kids are Aspergic and will settle into a routine that doesn't involve him whilst he's away and will struggle with his arrival back. As much as possible if he's aware of whats been going on from their perspective will make his reappearance a lot smoother.

if you look along the bar near the top of the mumsnet homepage theres a "blogs" section and also a MN bloggers forum. Lots of help there!

I can't see that a blog will be of any great help to your dc.

Are you planning to Skype daily or frequently so that the dc won't struggle with their df's return?

Can you not write a daily email to your dh and either send it or save and add to it in your draft box before sending once or twice a week?
