Relationships

best online dating sites?

Just a quick one. I am on POF, which is a pile of shit. Mostly just horny teenagers and questionable men. It has a rep as a hook up site for sex etc, and this isn't what I want.

So, just quickly, can you suggest some better, more adult (not in a porno way!) relationship type sites that are free?

Thanks.

My daughter was on a marriage preparation course and told me that four out of the sixteen couples met on Guardian Soul mates, in London.

You can skip the questions on Cupid. I like it. I like that there aren't hundreds of people to trawl through. I have my 4th date with a guy on there tomorrow. And a first date with another on Saturday.

OKCupid is great.
I know loads of people who met their partners there. I do live in London, though.

The algorithm works better the more questions you answer. I'm a 95% match for my DP! (of 2 years, met through OKC)

I met my DP of three years on match.com. I know it's not free though. Sometimes you can pick up a good deal on it?
The trouble with the free ones is that they do very much put themselves in the market for anyone to join and 'have fun' rather than people who are actually looking for a relationship.
Depends what you're after really! I'd say that with any online dating sites you should be prepared for many crappy dates with pervy men before finding someone half decent!! I would defo recommend chatting and messaging as much as possible before you meet Smile
I was actually very lucky - I chatted to my DP for several weeks first via match then via text then we spoke .... Then we met .... And now that was all three years ago!! And he was the first guy I had met up with!!!!
I have known people have success with POF - I think sometimes it's best to take it all with a pinch of salt to start with .... I actually only went on match to be mosey and wasn't seriously looking for anyone at all!!!! Then people started messaging me and the first message I got said 'cot, you're fit!' Literally - that was it!!!!!!!
Good luck Smile
