What are you buying your partner for Xmas?

DP and I will be celebrating our first Christmas together this year just shy of our one year anniversary in January. We have just bought our first home together so cash isn't exactly flowing.

He's visiting his parents this weekend and rang earlier saying he was shopping with his mum for my Crimbo pressies which took me really by surprise as we agreed no presents based on the house buy. Now I know I've got the best part of two months but I'm starting to think wtf should I buy him!?

Any suggestions for a golf and football loving 32year old who already has all the latest gadgets?! What do you all plan to buy your better half this year?

Sounds like he'll just be buying you some little things, if you've agreed no presses due to house buy? Maybe you should double check with him in case you go all out and get him something big and he's only got you chocolates!

I have no useful ideas for you, though have a browse of buyagift.com because it always give me ideas for 'activity' type presents rather than stuff. My DH will only be getting some silly little things for Xmas as I spent so much on him for his 30th this month!

Id check budget before you go all out. DP is a golfer, always needs gloves and balls...if more budget a custom fit club or some pro lessons.

I hate buying for DH.

This year i'm going to settle for new running shoes, some clothes, some books, an electric razor and then some stocking fillers.

DH is getting a coffee grinder. This is because I accidentally bought a packet of coffee beans about 6 months ago, instead of grounds and waste not, want not!

Is he a member of a golf club? Book him some lesson with the Pro - they often do offers at this time of year. If the Pro has no offers on ask him about what sort of deal he would do for you. Maybe a lesson on the driving range, a chipping and putting lesson followed by a 9 hole playing lesson. If he is not a member anywhere contact you're nearest members golf club - you don't have to be a member to have lessons there.

Thanks for the suggestions. He's a member of a golf club. The thought of broaching present budgets makes me nervous tbh as a few people (sisters and friends) reckon they'll be something sparkly under the tree . I'm thinking a nice weekend away to combine our anniversary?

I got this bag for my brother last year and he's said that it's brilliant for the gym etc although I bought it for him to go camping.

So far I've got mine a few books and a wrist band. Will be tracking down a new tshirt of one he loved that he accidentally gave away to charity, and probably a dvd or gig ticket or something as well. He's fairly easy to buy for!

Op, Have they bought presents for the house? If he is with his mum you could have a lovely set of bathroom towels! Which is nice, but you might feel a bit miffed- I don't like presents for the house disguised as presents for me you see. Unless i ask of course.
