Relationship with you and your DC

When did you feel you loved your DC? Did you get that instant bond?

No instant bond here (have 1 DS, with DC2 on the way). It took months and months - can't actually put my finger on when I really felt I loved him but really, a very long time He's now 22m and I am absolutely overwhelmed by how much I love him.

Hoping I get that instant swoon with DC2, fingers crossed.

My ds was a nightmare baby not his fault at all of course, had colic and cried constantly for the first year. Felt nothing but anger and frustration tbh. Now 7 and he is so my boy love the very bones of him.

I've been besotted with them ever since I first clapped eyes on them.

No instant bond with either of mine, I think the 'instant bond' thing is a bit of a myth for lots of us.

I have a instant need to protect but not much else. I wasn't sure if it's normal or my situation or my hormones/mindstatr.
I feel I care and want to protect but I was expecting that rush of love that people speak of.

I felt instant overwhelming love for my ds which I was really happy and relieved about because had been knocked out fr em c.s and didn't see him for first two hours! But I knew it took my Sis a while to feel that. Think it's just different for different people.

Pretty much when I knew I was pregnant. :o

It sounds corny, but I was in love with the idea of having my own children before they were even conceived.

When I discovered that I was pregnant with them, the love was instant; there - boom! And when they were born ... I've never felt love like it. I mean, I'd throw myself off a cliff for them.

So, yeah, pretty instant and quite profound ... The love grows, too.
