Found some Viagra...

Married to dh for 10+ years, 3 kids, no plans for more and he is 41 years old.

I accidentally found an empty box of Viagra in the car. Prescription date is 11 September and all 4 had been taken. We have had sex once and I really don't think that he's cheating.

Should I ask him what's going on or pretend not to know and save him the embarrassment?

Sex has dwindled a lot. I'd put it down to him exercising a lot more and dieting.

He's lying.

It's almost impossible to get a 'mate' to prescribe you something, afaik. Internet, yeah, but it wouldn't be a prescription with his name on it.

Visadiva · 25/09/2012 07:16

Lloyds pharmacy has an Internet doctor. The tablets can be prescribed online.

Re the name on the script.. dd was given some strong antihistamines (which contained a sedative) earlier this year due to a reaction to something that we couldn't pinpoint for ages.

It was OTC, although recommended by her GP & I had to go through lots of details with the pharmacist, who gave me an individual dosage according to her height/weight. The printed this info on a label with her name & put it on the bottle.

So it does make sense, to me at least, that op's dh's meds would have a label too.

differentnameforthis · 25/09/2012 07:18

Sorry, name on the bottle, not script

Visadiva · 25/09/2012 07:28

Sorry, meant to add that with the online Dr you are prescribed meds over the Internet then you collect them at your local pharmacy a couple of hours later.
They would have a label with your name on and dosage instructions.
It's a private Dr service so you pay a premium. You pay online.

crazygracieuk · 25/09/2012 08:01

I used the word prescription as it was a medicine box with a pharmacy sticker that had his name and address printed on it.

Having looked on the Lloyds website, you can order them without seeing a doctor. Getting hold of the Viagra like this would appeal to dh.

If his name was on the prescription and he doesn't have diabetes, he would have to have paid for them. A GP can do a private prescription but only if they had examined him and deemed the viagra necessary, they would not be prescribed on a whim.
If he hasn't been to the Dr he has bought them over the internet--very foolish and risky thing to do.
However--l think he is lying

Youcanringmybell · 25/09/2012 09:30

I think he sounds genuine. He is obviously experiencing difficulties and wants to keep it private.

We always say on here go with your instincts. The OP is going with her instincts and his story is plausible.

Hope you persuade him that the GP is the best place to get his viagra from OP. Goodluck

kittybiscuits · 25/09/2012 10:25

It doesn't sound quite right to me OP. I didn't quite get the point of the fourth viagra tablet hidden in his car. But he will defintely be able to show you it, right? I have the distinct feeling there is more to this, but you may not want to know, if there is.
