Did I over-react?

Bit of background first...

My ex partner had no drive whatsoever...didnt care about going on holiday, wasnt interested in going out ever, would never do anything around the house...wouldnt even come to town with me and kids on a weekend, just sat on his computer 24/7.

Inevitably this relationship ended and I am now with someone....EXACTLY THE BLOODY SAME!

I have been with current partner now for over a year and we are supposed to be going on holiday yet realistically it's me that wants to go, he couldnt care less (but said he will go)...this means that yet again its left to me to sort out with travel agents, worry about money, worry about where to go etc etc...we (read: "I") decided to go to Majorca for a week, the brochures had been sat in the living room for over a month AFTER the meeting with the travel agents and he STILL hasnt looked at them, asked me any questions about where we're going or even talked about it with me, then he wonders why I worry that he wont get his share of the money together Angry.

Today he tipped me over the edge, I text him to tell him that I was sending off for our passports next week (meaning me and the kids, he doesnt live with us) and he replied with "ok, Ill get my photos sorted for you"!!!!!! So now I have to sort him a bloody passport out too??

God I'm so angry, am I over-reacting? I know it might sound petty and I know it is compared to what some of you are going through but Im so sick of crap, one sided relationships...where are all the good men? Sad

poor you. mine is good now, but it took me 10 years of training.. maybe rather than a perfect man, you need one with potential.. like rennovating a house.. tell him to sort out his passport or he doesn't come

Feistybird · 15/03/2006 20:59

book your holiday and forget him.

Sorry, but he sounds like such a loser.

Racers · 15/03/2006 21:00

well said alliebaba

Branster · 15/03/2006 21:03

if you intend to spend your future with this man, teach him to sort his own stuff himself. and start with the passport which is for him to do, you're not his mum. he'll get the message evetually.

thanks racers.. they generally need a regular kick up the arse

I know, I've got a sore foot myself Grin

alliebaba · 15/03/2006 21:08

we should get some steel toe caps, for butt kicking that is effective, but does not injure the toes
