Gift ideas for men

Wasn't sure where to post this so apology's, my DP and I have been together 8 (long) years this fri and just wanted some little gift idea's!?

Successful recent gifts for current petrol-head boyfriend. Porsche-shaped electronic mouse for laptop (v successful), GTX accessory for wearing on motorbike, watches of any description, cast-iron skillet for cooking his beloved steaks in... interest-related boys' toys, basically. :)

Previous gift ideas: DVD box sets, tickets to concerts/comedy/football, console/computer games, clothes, cufflinks, zippo lighter, aftershave, iPod with a playlist of songs that mean a lot to you both, underwear, wine and cheese hampers or beer/ale, collage of favourite photos framed, a poem if you can, something relevant to hobbies. My SIL got my brother a fancy nerf gun which he loved the big kid he is!

Surely the best way is to ask the kinds of things he likes. We all like different things, I find the best presents are the ones that speak to me, not just generic blokey ones.

nice watch? but it has got to be the one he wants

something he wouldn't feel happy spending the money on because it's an indulgence.
