Moving On. How do I do it?

I have come to the realisation that my relationship with DP is over. The spark has gone. I've tried reigniting it but I can't muster up the passion. There is more to it but don't want to bore you all.
I'm thinking of moving out but someone told me that I can't get a council house if I have my name on a mortgage. That I have to sell the house and have proof from an estate agent. Is this true.
How do I approach the subject with DP.

not really sure tbh but is your dp buying your share of the house not an option?
tho saying that, I was in a turbulant relationship in the past, we both had our names on the mortgage and I got re-housed through a housing assocation but I can't remember if I took my name off it before or after getting my new place (sorry) your best bet is to ring the council and see what they say, I wouldn't go off what 'someone' has said without getting the facts

i got housed and i had/have a mortgage,but he stopped paying mortgage and is in process of being repossesed, also mental and emotional abuse and had to get statements from everyone stating what it was like. NOt sure really but go to cab and see what they say. hope things work out for you.

mental and emotional abuse is hard to prove. I manage all the bills now. not sure how he;d manage on his own. Don't wan thim to get reposessed
