advice needed...how to leave abusive marriage safely

Hi, I'm asking for a friend, she knows I am posting.

My friend is in an abusive marriage and wants to leave. Can anyone offer information and advice on how to do this please? The services in our area have been cut, so the contacts we have don't exist anymore.

She wants to know how to leave safely, and how to make a plan for this. She will need to go to a refuge. Who does she need to contact? Can this be planned in advance? At the moment as far as I know, her plan is simply that she wants to leave during the school holidays, and whilst he is out. She is very scared of his reaction obviously, and she needs to know that she and the children will be safe.

She definitely needs Women's Aid. They will advise her on safety and help find a suitable refuge space.
