How long before my divorce comes through? First of all it has been petitioned, he has been sent it in march and now waiting for my solicitor to do an affadavit so i can get it granted without him signing it as he hasnt returned the acknowledgement of service form. I now just want to know how long all this will take and if anyone has any experiences of it.

And also will the judge grant it without contact orders etc in place? Only my ex has been offered a contact centre but chose not to but asked for mediation, to which my solicitor referred us to, and i went for my initial meeting and we were considered suitable for shuttle mediation, but he never bothered to pursue it. So what happens next there? As far as i am concerned, if he cant be bothered to pick up the phone to the mediators i dont see him travellig two hours to see his son, but thats just my view.

Any advice/opinions appreciated.

How long is a piece of string?

A divorce with no arguing and no major issues usually goes through in 4-6 months, so I would imagine that yours would take longer but only your solicitor will be able to give you a more firm estimate.

Solicitor said 6 months but it seems more complicated now and was worried about a divorce not being granted cos contact hasnt been arranged, but thats not my fault. I have done everything reasonable.
