From your response on another thread, it appears that your dc are adult and you work for your dh. Are your dc living at home? If not, do you see them on a regular basis?

Are you paid for the work you do? Is it work that you could do elsewhere, for another company/organisation? If not, did you work before your marriage and do you have skills from any former occupations that you can offer employers?

Are you estranged from your family or are they deceased? Do you not have anyone you can call a friend - perhaps from way back, someone you see regularly as you go about your daily business, or maybe a parent of one your dc's friends?

Do you own your home - albeit with the aid of a mortgage - or do you rent?

Is there a specific reason why you don't have your own bank account? It's not difficult to open one and you could make that the starting point on your road to freedom.
