How did you meet your DP/DH/DW then?

Right my friend and I are feeling horribly disillusioned about relationships at the moment. Could we have a nice thread? I love hearing about how people met and fell in lurve (am hard as nails usually, honest). So how did you meet your partner and did you hit it off straightaway?

He turned up randomly to a party at my flat (friend of a friend) and never left!

We were friends for a couple of weeks first before anything happened

Supermarket.

He reached something down from a shelf for me.

Really diddl. I always see nice looking men in the supermarket. I hope it was something nice like wine and not stain remover or something?

Met after 6 months (lived in different countries), that was 6 years ago

He joined the same TA Squadron as my brother. They became drinking pals. Years went by and I very slowly realised that my brother's friend was really rather a first rate bloke.

One of our group of friends, had known him for a couple of years and we always got on well, but were both in relationships (not very serious ones, but still not unattached) but we each became single, and a flirty friendship moved onto a snog, then a bit more flirting for a couple of weeks, and then a one night stand later he moved in with me. We have been together 11 years and married for ten years in September.

At school :) then again on a dating site very recently.

On New years eve, in a pub, we were both meant to be somewhere else. I just said hello to him at the bar. Mutual acquaintances (who coincidentally wanted to go out with him) warned him off me, as I would only use him for sex
He was 19 and their warnings seemed to have no effect. 15 years ago now.

Sounds cheesy, but we were both crewing on the same racing yacht.

I found him in a cupboard

My housemates had asked him to fix the server in the cupboard of our student house and he was there when I got back from lectures. I was cos I looked like crap, was in my scruffy clothes and went and hid in my room. My housemate let me know he was going to be at a party and invited me along. I later snogged him when some annoying bloke asked me out and we've been together ever since.

At the Union when I was a naive first year and he was visiting his post grad friend.

I met ex through friends as a sort of set up.

Saw him walking down th street an the thought came into my head 'That is my husband'.

Met him at a party a little bit later. We abandoned the party to go out for dinner. . Had second date the next night and i stayed over and never left. That was 10 years ago. I have my frustrations of course, but love him madly.

elephants I have no idea!!! We spoke a tiny bit, he was gorgeous & made me laugh, had no idea at that point I would ever see him again though!! Haha! Fast forward 9 years, married with 2 ds's :)

In the pub next door to my parents house.

I was 15/16 and was fleecing everyone at the pool table. While we were playing I realised it must be love because I gave him my last cigarette.

Online in Nov 06, met face to face 3 days later, Feb 07 he sold his house, got new job and moved in with me in Scotland from NI. Sep 09 our DS was born ;)
