apologies for title, I am bereft of ideas as the sodding times 'kindly' edited my profile for me. Angry

TimeForMeAndDD · 31/05/2012 16:10

Grin I agree! He is keen to get to date 5!! t really is time you were broaching the subject of bunk beds! Grin

MsC music to my ears!! A woman after my own heart!! And judging from all the dates/action you get it's something that works well for you. You seem to meet some really nice men, what dating sites are you on?

Post Tis lovely being a mum isn't it? My DD melts my heart at least once a day, and she farts like a trooper too! Grin

PostBellumBugsy · 31/05/2012 16:28

MrsC, interesting dates there & quite a contrast too.

Go Watch!!!!! Date 5 by next week - fantastic.

MrMusic has requested a 3rd date but it may be a way off & all my fault. My statutory one night is already taken next week and the week after that. So, I guess it will be another 3 week gap between dates!

In terms of weekends, we have our children on alternate weekends. So weekends are out for now too!!!

watchoutforthatsnail · 31/05/2012 16:53

Post, could you not swap weekends?

I can't remember how old your children are, but could he come over one evening, when they are asleep?

Or do you not have anyone you could ask to babysit.

PostBellumBugsy · 31/05/2012 16:55

DCs are 12 & 10 - I'd be waiting until midnight for him to come around!!!

I could swap weekends, but ex-H is a nightmare & I would only do that as a last resort.

My childminder babysits at a cost of £8 per hour - so I try to limit myself to once a week!

I'm almost tempted to get an au pair again - but the rest of the hassle that goes with them (I had au pairs for 6 years) - makes me feel tired!!

I think we'll just have to take it slowly.

PostBellumBugsy · 31/05/2012 17:01

I'm kidding about midnight, but it would have to be at least 10pm before I could be completely sure they were asleep. Further down the line, I'd invite him over then - but given I'm not completely sure how I'd feel if he made a move - I think inviting him over for a 10pm rendevouz, might send out some very mixed messages.

watchoutforthatsnail · 31/05/2012 17:01

Could he swap weekends? Or noone to babysit that you don't have to pay?

TimeForMeAndDD · 31/05/2012 17:03

Can you not do an early date Post and let your 12 year old babysit? I think 12 is considered a responsible age? Smile

PostBellumBugsy · 31/05/2012 17:05

Parents & family all live over an hour away & I could ask a friend, but I'm never in a position to return the favour - so again, that is an absolute last resort.

My weekends will change during the summer holidays, so it isn't forever!

PostBellumBugsy · 31/05/2012 17:07

I sound like I'm coming back with negatives, but he works in Central London & I don't. The earliest we can meet is 7pm. I am happy to leave DS & DD together for an hour or so in the evening - but I'd be nervous about longer than that - particularly as DS is autistic spectrum.

I'll have a little think - but it may be either I cough up more cash - or I just go with big old gaps between dates!

MsCellophane · 31/05/2012 17:25

Time - all from POF, it is working well for me at the moment. I'm guessing someone, someday will turn my head but for now I'm liking making new friends withbenefits . They aren't all from me having IE on there either, these last few came from me saying dating. I have almost driven round the whole of the m25 this week though - Sth London on mon and surrey yesterday

post - I would ask the friend, you may not be able to return the favour with an evening babysit, but could you maybe do a daytime one for them?

MirandaWest · 31/05/2012 17:34

Am trying out the new mn android app. Doesn't seem to include the ability to do paragraphs Hmm.

TimeForMeAndDD · 31/05/2012 17:35

MsC it's good to hear that POF isn't such a dead loss for all of us! I might set my profile to IE this weekend and see what happens. I did get some quite good messages from some seemingly ok men the last time I tried it. I don't have car though so will only be able to travel as far as my bus pass allows Grin

Post I think I would ask the friend too. I know that I would babysit/do a favour for a friend not expecting the favour to be returned, maybe your friend will be of the same mind.

ChaoticismyLife · 31/05/2012 19:00

watch a 3rd and 4th date, a picnic sounds lovely too. Definitely get those bunk beds checked out Wink

miranda glad everything is still going well.

Post hope you get something sorted.

I hid my profiles again a few days ago so I'm joining Time in the not dating club.

MirandaWest · 31/05/2012 19:03

In my youth I regularly slept with another person in a single bed. How? Did we just sleep on top of each other, or did we just not sleep?

Nowadays king sized bed is a necessity Grin. And preferably just for me most of the time Wink

TimeForMeAndDD · 31/05/2012 19:04

I've just unhid mine Chaotic Grin although I'm still not dating cos there's nothing to date! Although as watch pointed out to me, the bank holiday may bring some bored singles.

Any news on the job? I still have everything crossed for you, which at the moment is fine, because other than for walking without falling over there is no need for legs to be uncrossed.

MyLittleMiracles · 31/05/2012 19:06

It's great to see all these dates going so well. I am doing pretty well. Feeling more stable. Less ups and downs. But still write those bad memories down when they return, cos psychologically I can then shut them away in that book.

I am so glad you guys are having better luck. watch I bet you are glad you gave him a chance? Everyone (who isn't a psycho) deserves a chance and I try to give them that.

hatesponge · 31/05/2012 19:14

watch thats great re 3rd & 4th date.

And good to hear lots going well for others too :)

I have shown door man's photo to a friend, who confirms he is v v good looking and therefore wont be at all interested in me so thats the end of that really. Asking him for a drink will result in him flat out turning me down, and I really don't think I can take any more disappointment at the moment.

ChaoticismyLife · 31/05/2012 19:19

I've shared a single bed in the past but I couldn't do it now. I only have a double but it's been mine alone for the last 12 years, in fact this particular one I bought about 7/8 years ago, so apart from letting a friend have it when she stayed a few years ago, only I have slept in it.

No word on the job yet so it's probably a good job I don't need my legs for anything but walking Grin

It's been raining here today too, after a lovely 10 days or so.

MirandaWest · 31/05/2012 19:19

sponge please stop it :)

If you don't ask him then you definitely won't go on a date with him. Please at least find out if he is is single or not. Don't write yourself off before anything has happened.

TimeForMeAndDD · 31/05/2012 19:25

Sponge I didn't realise you were psychic, please could you tell me when I am going to meet a nice, loving, tall man who is happy to go home to his own bed on a night? Grin But you know, even psychics are wrong sometimes, you could ask him for a drink and he might just say yes!! If alarm man was to walk back into my life I would definitely ask him for a drink, I would be prepared to risk rejection disappointment for that man. I would.

My bed is a double too Chaotic and I've had it for 2 years 3 months and the only man who has been anywhere near it was the delivery man! But I would allow alarm man to lie down on it.

hatesponge · 31/05/2012 19:33

Unfortunately the only men I find attractive are 99.9% of the time ones who dont fancy me. The last time this happened, with someone who was a friend of a friend, I knew he'd never be interested, but I tried, I asked him to go for a drink for his birthday. and his reply was 'no, I don't want to'. Which was fairly unequivocal :(

And this will be exactly the same. because that's just how it is, and I really can't face it all again, besides which I cant say anything now as he's doing my quote - which I really need for mediation - and given that in the above example the guy in question never ever spoke to me again, I cant take the risk.

watchoutforthatsnail · 31/05/2012 20:10

Sponge, understand the quote thing.... Maybe wait until that's done, then tell him by ways of thanks, you would like to take him out for a beer. And you will know from that.

Mlm, glad you are feeling a bit better...

Chaotic, hope you hear re second interview soon....

TimeForMeAndDD · 31/05/2012 20:14

Yes, good plan sponge, what watch says. I'm wondering whether to ring the council and ask if I can have the settings changed on my alarm. If my alarm man turns up then I am going to make a move on him it's meant to be!! Grin

Yes Chaotic, me too, I hope you hear about the job soon.

TimeForMeAndDD · 31/05/2012 20:18

YES! I am!! As soon as DD is back at school I am going to ring the council, I am! Nothing gained and all that.
