For the last year my life has just gone downhill. I'm off work with anxiety and my relationship is in tatters. I just can't get a grip of my life and feel like such a failure. 😓😓

'Life' is a pretty big thing to get a grip of. Can you think of something smaller that is more easily tackled? Even if it's a pretty minor achievement, it gets the ball rolling and makes you feel more in control. Good luck

Thanks,I know that sounds like a good plan I just don't know where to start :( it's like I don't know my own mind anymore. Sometimes I wonder who I am.

do you think this feeling is something you can start to unpick on your own or would you benefit from having a sounding board (not necessarily a counsellor, could be a trusted friend or life coach or family member?) how motivated are you to make a start by yourself? It sounds like you are feeling very overwhelmed and I know for me when I feel like that it helps to talk it out with someone in RL.

If you are feeling like you could start to look at stuff by yourself a bit, how about trying to do some basic 'getting to know yourself' stuff online? look here for starters. If you find it a bit hard to do on your own (or depressing, which it can be when you feel down!) maybe get a friend to do it with you, or alongside you, so you can encourage each other? The nice thing about looking at a site like this is that it asks specific questions that could help you get past the 'where to start??' feeling.

Have a Brew and a Biscuit while you nose around. Might cheer you up to do something positive about it, even from the comfort of an armchair!

"I just don't know where to start"

As Julie Andrews once said 'start at the very beginning'... It doesn't actually matter what you do whether it's cleaning out a cupboard or taking a walk around the block. The important part is to pick something, anything and get on and do it rather than putting it off & waiting until everything feels right. Good luck
