Probably way too much info but here goes....
Since I was young I've suffered from really bad cramp. I mean awful leaping up in pain and walking around like John Cleese for several minutes, also get it in weird places like under my tongue, in my back and down my sides. Problem is I often get it during sex. I can't just ignore it its too painful and its getting DH down. I don't blame him cos it drives me round the twist too. Plus add to this since having my 3 DCs I've suffered from really strange painful hip joints due to SPD and I've literally crushed him and pinged him away with my thighs cos my hips have spasmed (spelling is terrible sorry)
Its getting him down because I think he feels like I'm rejecting him but I'm really not, then I get upset because I've upset him...arghhh sorry venting..just wondering if anyone has any experience of this and if you went to the doctors or whatever what did you/they do or say?

The GP seems to be the obvious next move for something so severe. If it's been going on your whole life there could be some underlying, undiagnosed medical condition that can be treated, there could be some lifestyle change that might help or they might be able to prescribe medication for you to use when an attack strikes. I'd present the GP with the problem and allow them to check you out physically.

Cramp may be due to mineral deficiency, can't remember which.

Bananas are supposed to be good, but if it is that bad I'd go to the gp.

Potassium helps. I suffered badly with cramp when I was a teenager, I had to regulate my diet to ensure I had a healthy balance of both sodium and potassium. I know if I start getting cramp again, I have to look at what I'm eating.

BUT I'd go see your GP and get things looked at

See your GP for a simple blood test to check for mineral deficiency. If that's the problem it's so easy to fix with the right supplements.

thanks for your replies I know I need to go to the doctor I'm just such a wus! Thought if anyone had anything similar they might be able to point me in teh right direction but you're all totally right I really need to be checked out,. Its getting so bad now I can almost kick DH in the gut/head/soft and squidgeys if it happens mid buisiness!

My DH got some tablets for cramp from the doctor. I think they were some kind of salt tablets. it was a few years ago. And they did help.

Oooh thanks for that. Good to know that someone's had some experience and that something worked. Was a bit worried that I'd have to eat bananas and hope :)
