Sorry, please excuse my naitivity, have heard this expression many times used in context and figured it what it must mean generally, but what does it actually stand for?

Yes, five, one has to assume The "ImBetweeners" generation will grow up one day.

Not much to say about a mature man that still uses such terms, is there ?

Desparado

There are good men about who hate porn, do not use it and have never used it. My DH is one.

And when you are ready (or if), I am sure there will be one out there for you.

Do you expect men to masturbate whithout any stimulation? what would be acceptable as stimulating material? Is masturbation wrong also?

I always lol at the men who don't use porn.

Lol and lol.

Nobody said masturbation was wrong, SU

I find it strange when people use the terms "masturbation" and "porn" interchangeably, wrt to men ...like they can't do the former without the latter

how you insult them, without realising it Smile

I can very easily masturbate without porn...can't you ?

I'm glad the internet hadn't been invented when I was married, my serial shagger of a husband would have had a field day!

I think that it's the stilmulus that men like to use to enjoy masturbation, in the same way as when we use the rampant rabbit. It just helps it along a bit.

To answer your original question a bit more fully OP I think the term originally came from the movie American Pie, from a conversation between those oh-so suave and debonair characters Harold and Kumar.

I think.

Squared, a lot of people have political objections to porn

so to come on a thread like this where the Op has been quite clear about how she feels about it and decide she is over reacting sounds like you are trying to belittle her feelings

why would you do that ?

you are fine with porn...so what ?

Yes AF, how can you expect a man to masturate without porn?!

Er.. I'm sure some manage. Grin

Parts of this thread are extremely insulting to men, implying they have no imagination and very poor memories. I am quite sure the majority of red-blooded males can perfectly well manage to beat one off without recourse to visual stimulus.

Not like a rabbit at all btw; the rabbit is doing the job of a hand, ie physical stimulation, not the job of porn, unless you're only looking at the bloody thing. (I've never owned one btw.)

Apparently I am one - a MILF that is sigh I am only 38 and the oh so intelligent male specimen delighting me with his scintillating conversation was forty -fecking-six!! Way to boost my non existent self esteem - I got up and left before the inevitable comments about my bust size....

OP dont let him blame you for his inadequacies as a respectful human being - you are not at fault. Porn is easier than bothering to work out what makes you tick

oh fgs. now men can't masturbate without porn? seriously?

how did cavemen wank then? how do societies without photography manage to wank?

they're men you know, not halfwitted sex robots. they've got imaginations.

OP i am sorry your H is such a numpty.

But why should men have to masturbate without porn? We can use our fingers to masturbate but we don't, we use a vibrator. Why? because it is nicer. Do men not feel inadequate when they know that a rampant rabbit can produce amzing orgasms? Do we not fantasise about other men when masturbating? I know I do!

Report
MagsAloof · 24/04/2012 12:50

Porn apologisers. Don't you just love 'em? Hmm

I don't use a vibrator, btw. I think 'rampant rabbits' (so juvenile) are vile things. Plastic fake cocks. Urgh .

But anyway, it is hardly comparable to watching porn. Men with a porn habit - not for me, and I would hope any other woman who feels the same would get some strength from knowing that it doesn't have to be something you 'put up with'.

If you dont feel the same way, fair enough@Squared. But many do. And I would urge you to do soe proper research in to the porn industry before you make your final judgement.

OP, I hope things work out for you.

'But why should men have to masturbate without porn?'

What a f-ed up view. Of course men like looking at womens naked bodies, but that doesn't mean they need an entire woman-hating industry to pander to it.

SquaredUp, have you never noticed that the majority of porn depicts women in humiliating and degrading poses whilst the man is in a position of power usually stood over her? Yes the women are being paid, but what does that tell you about the attitude towards women? Does it not make you worried that a Newsbeat survey discovered that a high percentage (I forget but it was around 75%) of young men admitted that they frequently use porn and that it had affected not only their attitude towards women but their relationships? Did it not shock you to find that there are some 11 year olds who not only have access to porn but are actually addicted to it? Does it not frighten you that the most googled porn term is 'rape porn'?

Gone are the days when you had to physically hire a porno DVD or video or reach up to the top shelf of a newsagents to get a porn mag. Now it's on the internet and unless you opt into parental controls and safe search (which many many parents don't/can't) then anyone of any age can type in a sexual search term and be confronted with video clips and images of hard core porn.

Pornography is invading our society in a bad way. The message it sends out to men is that women like to be degraded and controlled, that women should accept all sorts of sexual positions and they should there to solely to please the men.

That is the most time I will spend debating this topic with you. I suggest you go away, do a little research on pornography and then come back when you are a little more educated.

There ARE some women who like looking at porn and who find it stimulating. Not ALL porn is mysoginistic. Some of the amateur stuff is quite interesting! What about Gay porn, is that woman hating as well? I really don't see what the problem is with looking at a film of consenting adults having sex.

DP abhores porn, more than I do actually, because he took the time to read up on the 'industry' and the horrors of it. Before I met him I just didn't like it because I thought it was a bit wierd, although we haev had a few conversations about it now.

If DP needs a wank and I am not in the mood/not there/whatever, he uses his imagination. More often than not, he thinks of me, his partner, who he has regular sex with and loves and thinks is sexy. I know because he has told me so.

I would be a bit [hmm[] if he suddenly said "Twll, I can't possibly have a wank without watching some other man rape shag a woman that looks nothing like you" especially knowing what he read.

But why should men have to masturbate without porn? We can use our fingers to masturbate but we don't, we use a vibrator. Why? because it is nicer.

Surely that isn't a correct way to look at it - fingers vs vibrator is the female equivalent of hand vs I don't know... sock? Lube covered hand? A vibrator isn't about visual stimulation, while porn is. What is wrong with a man using his imagination?

Knowing what I know now, I would be very upset if DP could masturbate over what is more than likely a woman being taken advantage of.

'Consenting adults' is a term that is completely and utterly abused and misused wrt porn.

What Rhubarb said.

SquaredUp - the VAST MAJORITY of porn caters to men. Are you not listening?

Tell you what, read up about the porn industry and find out where your money is going. This from The Guardian is quite eye-opening.

Internet Statistics here and you will find that teen sex is a common search term as well as anal sex and teen porn. This quote is very scary "The average age of a child?s first exposure to pornography is 11. A total of 90 percent of children ages 8-16 have viewed pornography online. Pornographers use many character names that appeal to children such as ?Pokemon.?
