Why should you "never date a nurse"?

I have been talking to a guy I quite like who is a nurse and I've been told by many people to stay away from nurses. Apparently nurses tend to be bossy, unsympathetic and self absorbed as well as aggressive and arrogant?! this has been said to me by 3 different people. My brother was married to a nurse and when they divorced he said he'd never ever date another nurse.

What is it about nurses?? has anyone else heard this?

What I would say, is that if they are a general nurse rather than a mental health nurse, they get lots of ladies after them. A straight male general nurse is a relatively rare beast IM(extensive)E

I have heard that nurses are a bit wild and like to party because they have to deal with blood, guts and death all day. I only know one nurse, but she's nothing like this, and nothing like your description either.

I'm a nurse and my husband agrees that I am all of the above! He is joking, I hope! I would say in general nurses have a rather warped sense of humour which helps you get through the working day. I certainly wouldn't say I'm bossy, self absorbed or unsympathetic...

I do tell badly judged in appropriate stories though. Maybe not because I'm a nurse. Maybe just don't date me.

What a load of bollocks!! Ive never heard anything like that about nurses. Ive been told "never date a policeman" "never date a pilot" but, not a nurse. Im sure they are quite delightful to date.....
