it is wrong to get back with your first love?

We are both now single. We connect on so many levels. But is it 'lazy' dating? It feels like we have such a lot in common and we really do but is it all a bit 'star crossed lovers, meant to be' type romanticism? Or is it real?! this probably sounds a bit confusing but i know what I mean! Has anyone made a success of a rekindled romance?

Depends why you broke up in the first place. If it was just because you were both young and not ready to commit or circumstances got in the way, then it's not wrong at all. If there was a more serious reason for your breakup and you're just dating because it feels safe, then that would be wrong, and lazy.

It's no lazier than dating someone else. I'm in touch with my first love and we have a fine old time reminiscing about the old days alternated with catching up on what we've done since. Yes, there's a bit of romanticism in the mix but as long as you go into it eyes open (including remembering why you broke up first time around) I can't see the harm.

My husband and I were together years ago and broke up for various reasons, and ended up with other people for 3 years.

Happier than ever now, he's not my first love, but he is the love of my life.

I generally agree with the cliche that if its meant to be, it'll happen.

we split up because we were so young. I went off and travelled the world and he became an actor but now......................who knows

I think you have to approach it as a totally new relationship- neither of you will be totally the same people you were but there is no reason why you shouldn't still have a connection.

yes I htink you are right. No point going back to who we were. It was 25 years or so ago! I'll take it slowly and see how we go :-)
