DH has annoyed me. He announced 3 days ago when DS2 brought a lovely handmade card from nursery that he had remembered to buy a card. He also announced a few weeks ago that he would need to keep money back to buy me a gift. I dropped major hints about the 99p cake decorating mag thsat's being plugged on TV just now.

I get up today to a lovely handmade card from DD1 from school and the card hubby promised. But no 99p gift. This isn't the first time he's done this. He always promises, without provocation, to make effort and doesn't. Right now he's sitting in the kitchen playing FB games.

I'm not saying anything because I don't want him rushing to the shops in an afterthought.

It's not just mother's day. He lets me down all the time.

I'm just gonna enjoy the day with the kids because that's what it's all about. Fuck 'im. End rant.

Happy mothers' day x

I'm sure there's more to this than a 99p mag .. Maybe you need to have a chat about the bigger things that are bugging you??

There sounds like there is much more to this than just Mothers' Day, after all you're not his mum. You are right it IS about the kids and it sounds like you have had a lovely card :)

You need to talk. It really is just the tip of the iceberg, once you start to talk you will find there are other issues.

Take it from someone who knows - three years of no birthday presents or Christmas presents let alone a Mother's day card. In your case you are being taken for granted, in mine it was because he didnt give a fuck stuff.

He said he was keeping money back to buy you a gift, but didn't buy you a gift?

What's happened to the money, is what I'd like to know!
