a bit embarrassing really ...

I had my first son seven months ago - normal delivery. We commenced sex about six weeks after, but I'm really paranoid that I am "looser" than before. My partner swears that sex feels exactly the same (though, I think he would say that anyway as he wouldn't want to hurt my feelings). It's really making me paraniod and uncomfortable during sex and I am finding sex less satisfying - having difficulty working out whether I find it less satisfying because I have indeed got bigger and feel less, or whether in actual fact it's more psychological and I am just too worried etc to enjoy it?

Has anyone else got any experience of this? Sorry this seems a bit of a teenage question maybe, but it is genuinely affecting me.

Also, does pelvic floor make a noticeable difference to this kind of thing? Or just for continence really?

Pelvic floor exercises...LOTS :o

Yes pelvic floor exercises can help. If you had a very quick delivery or a prolonged delivery you can experience loss of sensation in the vagina, so it could be that. I only found that out recently as i'm seeing a continence phsyio after 3 fast births.

Okay, lots of pelvic floor I guess then. I was in labour for 14hours (from start of contractions), but the pushing bit was only about an hour or just over. I'm guessing that's classed as fairly quick for the first?

Maybe I have lost sensation and that's why my partner says it is the same for him?

I f I do pelvic floor properly every day how long should it be before I feel a difference? Is it possible to get pack to the way I was before? (if it's not all in my head that is!)

get a pelvic toner
its like any muscle, the longer you exercise, the stronger it gets. Also helps to stop you pee when you laugh. You can tense it during sex (sorry if tmi) which helps your muscles, but is also nice for DH
