Hi

I am looking for a book for a 'friend' who I believe is involved in an abusive relationship. It is not physical abuse ....more the 'i walk on egg shells because i do not want to upset him', 'he made me seeing my friends difficult so now i dont see them any more' & 'i have lost my self confidence some how - and i think it was him putting me down all the time and making me question myself' ....

type of stuff. Any one know anything I could buy for her?

Whereabouts are you? I'd say get her to speak to a DV professional thro the police station. If you buy her a book and he finds it, what then? Does she actually want to know this stuff or do you want her to know?

perhaps you can read book....if she's not ready then she won't want to....my best choice is Why does he do that? by Lundy Bancroft

Thank you for your suggestions - i think she is ready ...maybe not ready to acknowledge it is abusive but she is open to ideas. I can leave the book here and she can read it - or i will type it out for her and sent it to her emails (he doesnt have access)

Thank you
